I totally get this. When I moved into my first apartment, I grabbed those daylight bulbs thinking they'd make the space feel bigger and brighter. Instead, it felt like I was under interrogation every time I flipped the switch... not exactly cozy. Did you find that warmer lighting helped you visualize your layout better? For me, softer lights made it easier to picture furniture placement and overall flow. Curious if anyone else noticed lighting affecting their layout decisions too.

Haha, exactly my experience too. Warmer lighting definitely helps me visualize layouts better—it's easier to imagine how furniture and decor will interact when the space feels inviting. I've also noticed that layering different types of lighting (floor lamps, table lamps, etc.) gives a clearer sense of depth and flow. Makes a huge difference in planning out cozy corners or reading nooks...

Have you tried dimmable wall sconces? They're subtle but seriously elevate the mood, especially around seating areas.

Dimmable sconces can indeed add a nice touch, but personally I've found them somewhat limiting in flexibility. Once installed, you're pretty much committed to that seating arrangement, which might not suit everyone—especially if you like rearranging furniture occasionally. I've had better luck with adjustable floor lamps or even table lamps on dimmers. They offer similar ambiance but let you experiment more freely with your layout over time. Just something to consider...

Good point about the flexibility issue. I installed sconces in my living room thinking they'd be perfect, but after a few months, I got bored and wanted to rearrange everything... total headache. Ended up relying more on floor lamps anyway.

Speaking of adjustable lamps, have you found any brands or styles that actually look good and aren't flimsy? Seems like it's always one or the other...
