I've looked into modular built-ins myself, and here's what I've found:
- Rearranging is doable, but not exactly effortless—usually involves basic tools like screwdrivers or hex keys.
- Hardware tends to be pretty standard, nothing too specialized.
- Biggest hassle is alignment and making sure everything's level again afterward.

Wonder if anyone's tried modular setups in older apartments with uneven walls or floors...?

I've dealt with modular setups in an older place before, and honestly, uneven floors were a bit of a headache. Had to shim almost everything to get it level, and even then, walls weren't exactly cooperating either. It ended up looking fine, but took way more patience than I anticipated. Curious if anyone's found clever solutions or products specifically designed to handle uneven surfaces...?

Yeah, uneven floors can really test your patience—I feel you on that one. I've had good luck lately using adjustable furniture feet instead of traditional shims. They're pretty discreet and let you tweak the height easily whenever things shift (because let's face it, old buildings always move a bit...). Also, a friend swears by self-leveling furniture pads; I haven't tried them myself yet, but they seem promising. Might be worth checking out?

I dealt with something similar in my last place—floors were a nightmare. Ended up using those adjustable feet too, but honestly, sometimes even those weren't enough. Had to get creative with felt pads and cardboard layers...whatever works, right?

Did you find the adjustable feet actually worked long-term? I tried them out when we moved into our custom build because the floor ended up slightly uneven (yeah, brand new and still not perfect), but after a while, they seemed to shift or loosen a bit. Ended up just shimming with wood scraps...not exactly glamorous, but it's holding steady for now. Wondering if the felt pads would've been better in hindsight.
