Sink fixtures driving me nuts lately

Gotta say, I've never really found double-handles to be that much better for temp control. Had both types over the years, and honestly, a decent single-handle faucet can be just as precise once you get used to it. Agree on the aerator though—makes a huge difference. And yeah, learned the hard way about high-arc faucets in shallow sinks... ended up just swapping the faucet for a lower-profile one instead of changing the whole sink. Way less hassle.

Interesting point about single-handles—I used to think double-handles were the way to go for precision, but after switching to a decent single-handle faucet, I haven't really missed the old setup. Maybe it's just a matter of getting used to it? But yeah, totally agree on the aerator. It's surprising how much difference that little piece can make in terms of water flow and even splashing.

Speaking of high-arc faucets, I had a similar issue. Thought it'd look great and give me more room for pots and pans, but didn't factor in the shallow sink depth. Ended up with water splashing everywhere, especially when washing dishes. Instead of swapping out the faucet though, I went with one of those adjustable swivel aerators. Have you tried one of those? It lets you angle the water stream better, and it cut down on the splashing quite a bit. Might be worth a shot if you're still having issues.

Also, curious if anyone's experimented with low-flow fixtures? I've been slowly swapping out fixtures around the house to reduce water usage, and honestly, some of the newer low-flow faucets are pretty impressive. You barely notice the difference in pressure, but the water savings add up over time. Just something to consider if you're ever looking to upgrade again down the road...

I can definitely relate—had the same issue with a shallow farmhouse sink and high-arc faucet combo. Good call on the swivel aerator; sometimes small tweaks really do make all the difference.

Had a similar setup once, and honestly, the swivel aerator didn't fully solve it for me. Ended up switching to a deeper sink—made a huge difference. Curious though, anyone tried adjusting water pressure instead? Might be another angle worth exploring...

Adjusting water pressure crossed my mind too, but wouldn't that just slow down the flow without really solving the splash issue? I've got a pretty shallow sink myself and tried tweaking the valves under the sink to lower the pressure—ended up waiting forever just to fill a pot. Not exactly ideal for cooking.

Thinking about your deeper sink solution though, did you have to redo the countertop or was it just a straight swap-out? I'm on a tight budget, so major countertop work isn't really an option right now. Wonder if there's some middle ground...maybe a different faucet style that directs the flow better? Curious if anyone's gone down that route instead.
