- Copper looks great, but I keep hearing mixed things about long-term durability.
- Does the patina ever get too dark or weird-looking over time?
- I’ve seen some copper sinks in older homes that looked almost black...not sure if that’s a plus or minus.
- Any issues with acidic foods or cleaners messing up the finish?
- Stainless always felt cold, but at least it’s predictable. Just not sure copper’s worth the gamble for rentals or flips.

- Had a copper sink in my last place—honestly, the patina was kind of beautiful, but yeah, it got way darker than I expected.
- Acidic stuff definitely leaves marks, especially if you’re not wiping things down right away.
- For rentals, I’d probably stick with stainless. Copper’s a bit high-maintenance if you want it to look “just right.”
- That said, there’s something about the way copper ages that feels alive...but it’s not for everyone.

I get the appeal of copper, but honestly, after going through the whole “let’s try something different” phase in my kitchen, I’m all about function now. Stainless isn’t exciting, but it’s bulletproof—doesn’t care what you spill or how often you clean. The patina thing is cool for a while, then it just starts to look… tired? Maybe that’s just me. If you’re not up for constant upkeep, stainless wins every time.

Honestly, I tried to convince myself copper was “worth the vibe” but after a month of chasing water spots, I gave up. Stainless isn’t sexy, but it’s like sweatpants for your sink—just comfy and low drama. My wallet’s happier, too.

- Had the same debate when picking fixtures for our new place.
- Copper looked amazing in the showroom, but I kept picturing fingerprints and water marks everywhere.
- Ended up with brushed stainless. Not flashy, but honestly, I don’t miss the extra cleaning.
- The “sweatpants” analogy is spot on. Sometimes boring is just... easier.
