Fair point, but clearer accountability upfront doesn't always stop builders from cutting corners later on. Had a friend whose builder had great reviews and solid contracts, yet still ended up with leaks and headaches down the road. Regular inspections incentivized by insurers might add some paperwork, sure, but I'd rather deal with a bit of hassle now than costly surprises later... especially when budgets are tight.

Yeah, inspections can help, but they're not foolproof either. Had a project last year where the inspector missed some shoddy waterproofing—ended up costing the client big time. Guess there's no perfect solution, just gotta stay vigilant.

Inspections definitely help catch some issues early, but you're right—they're not bulletproof by any means. I've seen inspectors overlook things like poor drainage and subpar electrical work, probably because they're juggling multiple inspections a day. Honestly, the best safeguard is combining regular inspections with your own due diligence—walk through the site yourself, ask questions, and don't be shy about pointing out stuff that looks sketchy. A little extra legwork upfront can save a ton of headaches down the line...trust me on that one.

Fair point, but let's not underestimate builder insurance either. I've seen cases where even thorough inspections missed hidden structural issues. Insurance isn't foolproof, sure...but it's a crucial safety net when things inevitably slip through.

Good points all around, but I'm curious—do you think builder insurance sometimes gives homeowners a false sense of security? I've seen folks relax their guard because "insurance will cover it," only to find out later that certain issues weren't included in the policy. Inspections and due diligence are key, sure, but maybe we should also be clearer about exactly what builder insurance covers...and what it doesn't. Thoughts?
