Honestly, I get what you mean, but “deferred maintenance” isn’t always just code for neglect. Sometimes it’s about prioritizing—like, maybe the roof was fine for a while, but other projects took precedence. In development, we see it when owners have to juggle budgets. It’s not always as shady as it sounds, even if it does feel like a euphemism sometimes.
