It was honestly kind of funny, but also made me realize how much we rely on these shortcuts now. I get that they save time, but sometimes I feel like I need a decoder ring just to read the news. It’s not just in government either—tech and medicine are wild for this stuff. Sometimes I read a report at work and it’s just a wall of letters. Does anyone else get acronym fatigue? Or is it just something we have to live with now? Curious if anyone’s actually had a real-life mix-up because of this.

Couldn’t agree more—half the time, I’m staring at product labels or spec sheets and wondering if I’m reading English or some secret code. PTFE, VOC, FSC, LEED... it’s endless. Sure, the acronyms have their place, but when even seasoned folks get tripped up, you know it’s gone too far. It’s not just hardware stores either—try looking up eco-friendly building materials and you’ll drown in abbreviations. Clarity would go a long way, but I guess jargon makes things sound fancier than they are sometimes.
