Dedicated Home Office or Flexible Room: Where Does the Budget Make Sense?

On the wiring question, I’d budget for extra outlets and a conduit from the office to an accessible wiring point while the walls are open. That leaves room for future changes without committing now to every possible wiring need. Hardwired Ethernet is a useful option for a fixed desk if reliable connectivity there matters.

I wouldn’t assume the office needs its own electrical circuit just because it has a computer and monitor. That’s more worth considering if the planned equipment’s load or a device’s requirements call for a separate branch; an electrician can check the expected load against the planned circuit. These rough-in choices can make the room more adaptable without deciding whether it needs extra floor area.
