Been thinking about how to brighten up my tiny place without knocking down walls (landlord would kill me, lol). I'm torn between just maximizing regular windows—like sheer curtains, mirrors, that kinda thing—or going all in and asking if I can install a skylight. Skylights seem amazing, but I've heard they can leak or make the room too hot. Anyone tried either option? Which worked better for you?

I totally get your dilemma—my first place was tiny and dark, and I remember obsessing over how to brighten it up. Skylights are gorgeous, no doubt, but yeah, they can be tricky. My neighbor installed one a few years back and loved it at first...until the rainy season hit. Leaks galore. Personally, I've had better luck with mirrors opposite windows and sheer curtains—it made my cramped living room feel way more open without any landlord drama or unexpected leaks. Might be worth trying the simpler route first?
