Good points on hinges—definitely not the place to cut corners. I'd also add:

- Foundation matters just as much. Even a tiny house needs a solid base, or you'll notice shifting and settling pretty quickly.
- Moisture control is key. I've seen beautifully built tiny homes get moldy fast because ventilation wasn't prioritized.
- Don't underestimate insulation quality either. Good insulation makes all the difference in comfort and energy efficiency.

Get these basics right, and you'll have fewer headaches down the road... speaking from experience here.

This hits home for me. When I first moved into my smaller cabin-style place, I underestimated ventilation completely. Thought cracking a window occasionally would suffice—big mistake. Within months, mold started creeping in behind furniture and closets. Had to retrofit proper vents and fans, which wasn't cheap or easy. Curious if anyone else found unexpected issues like this after downsizing? Seems there's always something overlooked...

Been there—clients often underestimate airflow. A few unexpected tiny-home hiccups I've seen:
- Condensation behind built-in storage (sneaky!)
- Cooking odors lingering forever
- Humidity warping wood finishes

Tiny spaces amplify small oversights...lesson learned the hard way here too.

Yeah, airflow is definitely one of those things you don't fully appreciate until you're living with the consequences. When we built our custom place, I was skeptical about spending extra on ventilation—figured it was just upselling. But after dealing with mold creeping behind cabinets and that constant damp feeling in winter...I had to admit I was wrong. Tiny or not, proper airflow isn't optional if you want your home to last. Learned that lesson the expensive way myself.

Couldn't agree more. People underestimate how fast moisture builds up, especially in smaller spaces. Investing in a decent HRV or ERV system upfront saves you headaches (and wallet aches) down the road... learned that one myself too, ha.
