WHAT IF ALL SIGNS WERE DESIGNED FOR EVERYONE TO READ?
I totally get the urge to make things look cool, but honestly, I’m always thinking about the price tag. Like, is there a way to get those big, readable numbers without dropping a ton of cash? I’ve seen some of those custom metal address plaques and they look amazing, but then I check the price and… yeah, not happening.
Is there a sweet spot where you can get something clear, visible, and still not break the bank? Or do you just end up with those stick-on numbers from the hardware store that peel off after a year? I’m also wondering if there’s a real difference between the basic black-and-white ones and those “designer” options, or if it’s just marketing.
And lighting—does that mean I need to run wires and install something, or are those solar lights actually worth it? I’m all for people finding my place, but I’d rather not spend more on the sign than I did on my last grocery run.

I hear you on the price thing. I actually made my own address sign last year using some reclaimed wood and a set of those metal numbers from the hardware store. It cost maybe $15 total, and it’s held up way better than the stick-on ones. For lighting, I tried a cheap solar spotlight—wasn’t expecting much, but it’s been surprisingly decent. Not as bright as wired, but enough for deliveries and guests to spot the place. Sometimes simple and DIY really does the trick, and you can keep it eco-friendly too.
