Diy projects eating up my weekends

I recently got into DIY stuff around the house, bought one of those beginner-friendly toolkits online. Thought it'd be a fun way to save money and learn something new. But man, every project I start seems to take wayyy longer than the YouTube tutorials promise. Like, a "quick afternoon shelf" turns into a two-day ordeal, you know? Wondering if it's just me being slow or if others find DIY eats up way more time than expected?
