Gotta say, as someone who just went through the whole custom home build thing, cordless nailers have been a lifesaver. Sure, battery life can be sketchy (

"especially in colder weather"
—yeah, learned that the hard way), but grabbing a spare battery or two solved that quick. Compressor setups are solid, no argument there, but lugging hoses around and tripping over cords got old fast. For me, convenience edges out reliability...but hey, maybe I'll change my tune after my first mid-job battery disaster.

Totally get the cordless appeal, but honestly, for smaller DIY stuff around the house, a good ol' hammer still does it for me. Nail guns are sweet but kinda pricey if you're watching your budget...plus fewer things to go wrong mid-project.

I'm with you on the hammer for quick fixes around the house, but honestly, once you're framing walls or tackling bigger projects regularly, a nail gun becomes a lifesaver. I remember when I built my first shed—thought I'd save money sticking to the hammer. Halfway through, my arm was toast, and I ended up borrowing my buddy's nailer anyway. Sure, they're pricier upfront, but the time and energy saved on larger jobs...totally worth it in my book.

Yep, nail gun all the way for framing. Hammer's fine for patch jobs or small repairs, but when you're talking whole walls or roofing, it's just too slow and exhausting. Plus, nail guns give you cleaner, more consistent results...less bent nails to deal with.

True, nail guns definitely speed things up and cut down on frustration. But do you ever find yourself missing the precision of hand-nailing in tighter spots or tricky angles? I've had a couple times where the gun just couldn't quite fit or fire correctly, and I ended up grabbing the hammer anyway. Curious if you've run into that too or if it's just me being picky...
