Yeah, blocking definitely helps, but even then I've had walls end up wonky. Once framed a wall perfectly straight—or so I thought—then came back next day to find it bowed out overnight. Lumber has a mind of its own sometimes...

Yeah, no kidding. A few things I've found helpful:

- Check moisture content before framing—wet lumber is notorious for warping as it dries.
- Try crown-sorting your studs beforehand; aligning crowns consistently can minimize bowing.
- If possible, use engineered lumber or LVLs for critical walls—they're pricier but way more stable.

Even with all that, sometimes you just gotta embrace a little imperfection... wood's gonna wood, after all.

Haha, that's the truth right there. Honestly, there's something uniquely satisfying about working with lumber—imperfections and all. Sure, engineered stuff is great for precision, but there's character in those slight bows and twists. I've found clients often appreciate the subtle quirks once they understand it's part of the charm. Keep at it... sounds like you're already doing everything right.

Totally get the charm aspect, but as someone watching every dollar, those imperfections can mean extra costs down the line. Maybe try sorting lumber carefully before building? Saves headaches later and still keeps that natural vibe... just my two cents.

Sorting lumber definitely helps, but have you considered investing in a simple jig or guide for alignment? When I built my shed last year, I had similar issues—no matter how carefully I picked boards, some warping still snuck through. A basic framing jig made a huge difference in keeping things square and saved me from headaches later on. Might be worth looking into something like that to complement careful lumber selection...
