Dealing With Itchy Pink Nightmare In My Attic

Tried the powder barrier cream once—honestly, didn’t notice much difference. Maybe I didn’t slather it on thick enough? I usually just stick with a long sleeve shirt and duct tape the cuffs, but yeah, still end up itching for days. The fan trick’s great until you realize you’re just blowing fiberglass around... been there. Outsourcing’s tempting, but like you, I’m too stubborn (and cheap) to call it quits.

Yeah, learned that lesson the hard way—thought I was being clever with a box fan, but ended up with the whole house itching for a week. I’ve tried those disposable Tyvek suits, but they’re a sweatbox and tear if you look at them wrong. Ever tried layering up with old clothes you can just toss after? Seems wasteful, but it beats scratching for days. Curious if anyone’s had luck with a specific brand of gloves or tape that actually holds up.

Did the old clothes trick once—ended up tossing a pair of jeans I actually liked because the fibers never came out. Still better than the Tyvek suit, though. Those things are like wearing a plastic bag in a sauna. For gloves, I’ve had decent luck with those cheap blue nitrile ones under some old leather work gloves, then duct tape at the wrists. Not perfect, but at least my hands weren’t glowing pink for a week.
