We're finally replacing the old carpet in our living room and hallway. I'm tempted to go DIY laminate or vinyl plank, but um, my handyman skills are a bit questionable, lol. Anyone done this themselves or better off hiring pros?

Did vinyl plank myself last summer—it's doable, but honestly, prep work was a hassle (leveling floors, trimming doorways...). If you're unsure about your skills, hiring out might save headaches. Are you leaning more toward laminate or vinyl?
