I've been working on finishing a room in my basement, and I'm having a really tough time getting the seams between drywall sheets to look smooth. Like, no matter how careful I am, I end up with bumps or visible lines after sanding. I've watched a bunch of tutorials and they make it look so easy, but um... it's definitely not easy for me, haha.
I'm using joint compound and tape, doing thin coats and sanding between each one, but something still feels off. Maybe I'm using the wrong tools? Or maybe my technique is just bad? I've got one of those wide taping knives, but I dunno if there's some secret trick I'm missing or what.
If you've tackled drywall before and have any advice or tricks to share, I'd really appreciate it. This is driving me nuts and I'd love to avoid calling in a pro if possible (trying to save some cash here).
