I get where you’re coming from about “honest” updates sometimes being a smokescreen, but I think there’s another angle. With green builds especially, delays can be genuinely tough to predict—think supply chain hiccups for eco-friendly materials or stricter inspection timelines. It’s not always about poor planning, though of course that happens too. Have you noticed if the delays are tied to specific sustainable features, or is it more general stuff? Sometimes I wonder if we expect too much certainty from a process that’s just inherently messy...

Honestly, I get that green builds can be unpredictable, but I don’t buy that it’s always just “inherently messy.”

I think some stuff should be predictable—like, if delays are about basic framing or weather, that’s one thing. But when it’s three weeks because “windows didn’t arrive” and nobody tells you until you ask? That feels like bad communication or planning, not just the cost of going green. Maybe my expectations are high, but it shouldn’t all be a mystery.
