Had the exact same issue—my partner kept flipping the switches and then wondered why the “fancy lights” wouldn’t listen to voice commands. I get the appeal of a smart home, but honestly, sometimes it feels like you need a PhD just to turn on a lamp.
Swapping in smart switches made a huge difference here too. The only catch is, some of those dimmers don’t play nice with every bulb brand. I learned that the hard way after a few random flickers and one bulb that just refused to dim at all. Not the most elegant look when you’re trying to show off your “luxury” lighting setup and half the room’s either too bright or weirdly moody.
Still, I’d pick this over crawling around with a phone flashlight, trying to find a reset button behind the couch. At least now, if something goes haywire, I can just blame the tech and not my lack of electrical know-how...
