"Funny enough, my "ideal" setting ended up being way warmer than most productivity blogs recommend."

Interesting you mention this—I actually think those productivity blogs push the whole "bright and cool" lighting thing a bit too hard. Sure, cooler lighting might help some people stay alert, but honestly, it can also feel sterile and harsh after a while. I remember setting up a client's home office once: we initially went with the typical bright white LEDs everyone recommends. A week later, she called me back saying her workspace felt like an operating room...yikes.

After switching to warmer tones and softer brightness, she said she felt calmer and less strained by the end of the day. So maybe productivity isn't just about being hyper-alert—comfort and mood play a huge role too. I wonder if more people would benefit from trusting their instincts instead of sticking strictly to guidelines? Seems like you found a good balance just by trial and error anyway.

Totally relate to this. When I first set up my workspace, I went all-in on those super bright daylight bulbs thinking they'd boost my productivity. At first, it felt energizing, but after a few days, I started noticing headaches and eye strain creeping in. Eventually, I swapped them out for warmer bulbs and added a small desk lamp with a softer glow—instant relief.

Now, my workspace feels cozy rather than clinical, and I'm actually more productive because I'm comfortable spending longer periods there without feeling drained. Guess the key is finding what personally feels right instead of following generic advice too closely. Glad to see others have had similar experiences!

Interesting take—I get the appeal of warmer lighting, but personally, I prefer adjustable smart bulbs. Lets me shift from bright and energizing in the morning to cozy and chill later on. Ever tried using smart lighting for flexibility?

Totally get the appeal of smart bulbs—used them myself for a while.
- Love the flexibility, especially shifting tones through the day.
- Personally ended up going simpler (just dimmers) to avoid app fatigue...
- But yeah, adjustable lighting definitely helps productivity and mood.

Interesting perspective—I recently moved into my first custom-built home and have been debating the smart bulb route myself. I'm drawn to their versatility, especially for adjusting color temperature throughout the day, but the app fatigue you mentioned is definitely a concern. Did you find that dimmers alone provided enough flexibility in lighting adjustments, or did you occasionally miss the more nuanced control smart bulbs offer? Curious about your experience since I'm still weighing the pros and cons...
