I'm stuck deciding between pendant lights and recessed lighting for my kitchen remodel. Pendants seem cozy and stylish, but recessed feels cleaner and more spacious, you know? Curious what others prefer and why.

I've found recessed lighting generally easier to maintain and clean, especially in kitchen spaces prone to grease and dust. Pendant lights do add warmth, but they can sometimes clutter the visual space if your ceilings aren't very high. Have you considered maybe combining both styles—recessed for overall illumination and a pendant or two over an island or dining nook for accent lighting? Might give you the best of both worlds.

Totally agree about combining both—seems practical. But have you thought about the extra wiring costs involved with mixing recessed and pendant lights? Wondering if that might stretch the budget a bit...

Yeah, that's definitely something I've been thinking about too. When we did our kitchen, I fell in love with these gorgeous glass pendants...until I saw the electrician's quote for wiring them separately. Ouch. Maybe you could offset costs elsewhere, like choosing simpler cabinet hardware or backsplash materials? Curious if anyone else has ideas on balancing style and budget without sacrificing too much of either...
