Honestly, I get the appeal of keeping some of those quirky old fixtures—my place came with a couple that are just weirdly shaped and I kinda like them. But I’ve run into the issue where even the “universal” LED bulbs don’t quite fit or look right. Sometimes it feels like I’m spending more time and money tracking down specialty bulbs than I’d save on my energy bill. Anyone else feel like the efficiency trade-off isn’t always worth it for every single light? Or am I just being too stubborn about aesthetics?

SWITCHING TO ENERGY-SAVING BULBS: HOW MANY OF YOUR LIGHTS ARE ACTUALLY LEDS?

I hear you on that. One of my older rentals had these wild, tulip-shaped sconces—looked amazing, but finding bulbs that fit was a mini adventure every time one burned out. I ended up leaving a couple with the original incandescents just to avoid the hassle. In my experience, it’s not “stubborn” to care about aesthetics or convenience. Sometimes the trade-off just isn’t worth it, especially for lights you barely use.
