"Sometimes a bit more complexity upfront saves headaches later."

You're not wrong, but have you tried keeping it simple with a few tweaks? I used to rely on spreadsheets too, and yeah, it got messy quick—especially when contractors started shifting deadlines. But what helped me was color-coding and setting up conditional formatting for due dates. Have you experimented with that yet, or was it still too chaotic? Curious if it's just me who found a middle ground...

Color-coding definitely helps, but have you tried pairing it with a simple calendar app? I found spreadsheets alone still got overwhelming when dates shifted around. Eventually, I started syncing my spreadsheet deadlines with Google Calendar reminders—made a huge difference. Curious if you've tried integrating something like that, or do you prefer keeping everything in one place?

I've tried the calendar sync thing too, and yeah, it definitely helps. But honestly, what really saved my sanity was setting up automatic alerts a few days before each payment's due. Spreadsheets are great for an overview, but when you're juggling multiple projects and suppliers start shifting dates around (which they always do...), those reminders popping up on my phone were a lifesaver. Might be worth giving that a shot if you haven't already.

I found the same thing—spreadsheets are helpful, but only to a point. When I was managing our renovation loan payments, I initially relied entirely on Excel sheets, but after one or two missed deadlines (and some awkward calls with suppliers), I switched to a hybrid system. Now I keep the spreadsheet updated as a general reference, but it's the phone alerts that really keep me on track. It's just too easy for something to slip through otherwise...

I get the appeal of phone alerts, but honestly, they drove me nuts after a while. Too many notifications popping up all day made me start ignoring them entirely. I ended up using a wall calendar (old-school, I know...) alongside my spreadsheet. Having it physically in front of me every day made deadlines feel more tangible somehow. Anyone else find digital alerts more distracting than helpful sometimes?
