Totally get what you're saying about skin type affecting results—my skin leans pretty dry, and the powder-before-foundation thing never really clicked with me either. But instead of moisturizer, I've found using a hydrating primer works wonders. It smooths things out nicely without causing those pesky dry patches to pop up later in the day... might be worth trying if moisturizers alone don't totally nail it for you.

Tried the primer route too, but honestly, my skin just drinks it up and asks for seconds...lol. Weirdly enough, mixing a drop of facial oil into foundation has been my sweet spot lately—no dry patches and stays put longer.

Interesting, hadn't thought of doing that before. Does it ever feel heavy or greasy, though? I've always been wary of oils because my skin tends to get shiny halfway through the day...but maybe I'm missing something here.

I've tried primers too, and while some feel great initially, they tend to vanish into thin air by lunchtime. Maybe my skin's just extra thirsty or something, haha. I've been experimenting lately with a gel-based moisturizer underneath foundation—it seems to absorb quickly without leaving residue, but honestly, the staying power is still hit or miss.

Also curious—does adding oil affect how your foundation sets or blends? Like, do you notice any difference in coverage or texture? I'm all for finding that magic balance between hydration and longevity, but haven't quite nailed it yet.

Anyway, glad you found something that actually works for you. Might have to give facial oils another shot after all...
