Did you ever find yourself tempted to go back to a 30-year when things got tight, or was the faster payoff always worth it? I keep wondering if I’d miss the flexibility too much...
I’ve definitely had those moments where I’d stare at my budget spreadsheet and think, “Man, life would be easier with a smaller payment.” When my car needed a new transmission, I seriously questioned my choices. But honestly, seeing the principal drop so fast on the 15-year kept me motivated. It’s like watching a garden grow—you don’t want to dig it up halfway just because it’s tough to wait for the harvest. Still, I do miss the wiggle room sometimes, especially when unexpected stuff pops up. If flexibility is your thing, it’s a real trade-off.
