Totally get this. When we bought our second place, I skipped the lawyer thinking I knew enough from the first round. Big mistake. Turned out there was an easement buried deep in the fine print that let the neighbor use part of our driveway. Wasn't a huge disaster, but it definitely caught us off guard. After that, I decided it's just not worth the risk to skim through contracts myself.

Exactly this. You might save a couple hundred bucks initially, but if something slips by, it can cost way more down the line. Now I always have someone look it over—lesson learned the hard way.
