Been dealing with a basement that's always kinda damp, especially after heavy rains. Had carpet down there before and it was a total disaster—smelled musty, got moldy, you know the drill. Thinking about switching to something more moisture-friendly but not sure what's best. Vinyl plank maybe? Or tile? I'm open to anything that's not gonna turn into a mold farm again. Anyone had luck with something specific in a similar situation?

Vinyl plank is decent, but honestly, tile is probably your safest bet if moisture's a constant issue. Had a similar situation—vinyl held up okay, but over time it still felt kinda damp underneath. Eventually went with ceramic tile and haven't looked back. Just make sure to seal the grout properly or you'll trade moldy carpet for moldy grout... ask me how I know, lol.
