We moved into a place last year that has natural stone tiles throughout most of the downstairs. Looks amazing, but man, it can get chilly and slippery, especially in winter or after mopping. Anyway, I stumbled onto a pretty handy trickβ€”got myself some inexpensive area rugs with rubber backing (the thin kind, nothing fancy) and placed them strategically in high-traffic spots like the kitchen sink, stove area, and entryway. Not only does it keep our feet warmer, but it also cuts down on slipping around when the floor's damp. Plus, rugs are easy to toss in the wash if they get dirty.

Another thing I noticed is that stone seems to hold onto cold air longer, so I started using draft stoppers at the doors to keep the chill out. Seems to help a bit.

Curious if anyone else has little tricks or hacks for making natural stone floors more comfortable or safer. Maybe something DIY or a product you swear by?
