Okay, I never thought I'd care this much about what I grab to open a door, but here we are. I’m redoing a couple rooms and now I’m stuck on picking out, uh, handles? Knobs? Levers? There’s way too many options. Anyone have a favorite style or brand that actually holds up over time (and doesn’t look super dated in a year)? Bonus points if they’re easy to clean—my kids are sticky monsters. Any regrets or things you wish you’d known before swapping yours out?

Thought someone broke in or something, but nope—it was just my DIY shelves giving up on life, lol. Books everywhere, plants knocked over, total chaos. Guess my hardware choices weren't exactly top-notch... or maybe I just suck at installing brackets. Anyway, now I'm thinking of redoing the whole thing properly. Anyone had similar shelf catastrophes or got tips on how to avoid round two of midnight shelf collapse?

Just swapped out a couple of those ancient flip switches in my living room for dimmers, and honestly, it was easier than I thought. First, I flipped the breaker off (obviously, don't wanna fry myself), unscrewed the old switch, disconnected the wires, then connected the new dimmer wires—matching colors, you know. Screwed everything back in place, flipped the breaker back on, and boom... adjustable lighting mood achieved. Anyone got tips or tricks to make this even smoother next time?
