BUILDING BASE STRUCTURES—WHAT IF YOU HAD TO START OVER?
That’s a familiar scenario. I once worked with a family who wanted to pour deep footings for a backyard office, convinced they’d eventually add a second story. Years later, it’s still a single-level workspace, and the extra cost didn’t really pay off. There’s definitely value in planning ahead, but sometimes it’s smarter to keep things flexible and adapt as your needs evolve. Overbuilding can tie up budget you might want for other improvements down the line.
