Digging Up The Backyard: Found More Than Just Dirt
That unpredictability is exactly what I’m learning to expect. We started digging for a small patio and ended up with a pile of broken glass, some weird old tiles, and what looked like a chunk of someone’s driveway. It’s kind of wild how much history is just buried out there.
I totally get the frustration with pipes—waiting for those checks is such a drag, but yeah, way better than accidentally hitting something important. I’ve had to rethink my plans more than once because of stuff like that. It’s annoying in the moment, but I guess it forces you to get creative.
Honestly, it helps hearing that others have had to pivot too. Makes me feel less like I’m messing things up and more like it’s just part of the process. At least when you finally get it done, you know you’ve worked around every surprise your yard could throw at you.
