I just got one of those smart TVs that you can talk to, and honestly, I feel kinda silly sitting alone in my living room saying stuff like "Play Stranger Things" or "Volume up." Does it get less weird eventually, or is it always gonna feel awkward?

Honestly, I tried the voice commands for a week and ended up ditching them altogether. Felt way too unnatural for me. Buttons just feel quicker and less awkward... maybe I'm old-school though.

I get what you're saying about buttons feeling quicker, but honestly, voice commands have grown on me. At first, I felt pretty awkward too—like I was talking to myself—but after a while, it became second nature. Especially handy when I'm cooking or sketching out plans and my hands are full. I guess it's just about getting past that initial weirdness... now I barely notice it.

I see your point about eventually getting used to it, but I have to admit, voice commands never quite clicked for me either. I gave them a fair shot—probably longer than I should've—but even after weeks, it still felt like an awkward conversation with my TV. Plus, half the time it misunderstood me or randomly activated when someone on-screen said something similar... talk about frustrating.

That said, I can see how they'd be helpful in certain situations—like you mentioned, cooking or multitasking. Maybe it's just a matter of personal preference or how comfortable we each feel talking to our devices. For me though, buttons and remotes still win out for reliability and simplicity. Guess I'm just old-school like that.

I get why voice commands seem handy, but honestly, the whole talking-to-your-TV thing still feels a bit gimmicky to me. Tried it myself for a while, thinking it'd grow on me eventually... but nope. Half the time I'd end up repeating myself louder and louder, like arguing with a stubborn toddler. Plus, the random activations when someone onscreen says something similar—yeah, been there, super annoying.

On another note though, I've heard some people argue voice tech might help reduce electronic waste in the long run—fewer remotes manufactured means less plastic junk piling up. Not sure if that's enough of a reason to put up with awkwardly chatting to my TV every night, but it's an interesting angle at least. For now though, I'll stick to buttons and remotes; they're reliable and don't make me feel like I'm auditioning for a sci-fi movie every time I wanna watch Netflix.
