Anyone else feel awkward talking to their TV?

I can relate to this awkwardness. When we first got our smart TV, I felt quite self-conscious talking to it—especially with guests around. My solution was similar to yours:

"placing it discreetly on a lower shelf surrounded by books."

I tucked ours behind some framed photos. It worked fine until I realized the TV kept misunderstanding commands because of the obstruction. Eventually, I gave up and went back to the remote... old habits die hard, I suppose.

Haha, I totally get the awkwardness factor—especially when guests are around. Did you ever find yourself whispering commands to the TV, hoping no one would notice? I've caught myself doing that... technology's great, but sometimes it's just easier to press a button.

Haha, guilty as charged... but honestly, once you get used to voice control, it's hard to go back. Buttons are reliable, sure, but nothing beats casually dimming lights or adjusting volume without moving from your spot. Awkwardness fades fast when convenience kicks in.

I get the appeal, but honestly, voice control still feels kinda gimmicky to me. I tried it for a while, but half the time I'd have to repeat myself or it'd misunderstand and start playing some random show. Plus, when friends are over, it's just easier hitting a button than awkwardly repeating "volume down" three times... Maybe I'm old-school, but I'll stick with remotes until voice tech gets a bit smarter or less embarrassing to use around people.

Yeah, I hear you on the awkwardness factor. I've had a few cringe moments myself—like when I asked for the weather and got some random cooking show instead. But honestly, once you get used to it, voice control can be pretty handy when your hands are full or you're across the room. Do you think you'd use it more if it was super accurate, or is it just the talking-to-your-TV part that feels weird?
