Had a similar headache with mine—every time the neighbor's tree swayed, my thermostat thought someone was home. Ended up tucking the sensor onto a bookshelf at waist-height, hidden behind a plant. Looks good, works even better...and no more phantom heating cycles.

Good call on repositioning the sensor. Couple things to keep in mind though:
- Bookshelves can block airflow, sometimes skewing temp readings.
- Plants release moisture—might slightly affect humidity sensors.
Still, beats phantom heating cycles any day...

I tucked mine behind a plant once too, thinking it was pretty clever...but then I started noticing these weird humidity spikes. Took me forever to realize the plant was actually messing with the sensor readings. Ended up moving it to a shelf a bit higher up, still hidden but away from anything leafy or damp. Honestly, placement can be surprisingly tricky with these things. You want it discreet, but not so hidden that it messes with accuracy. Still, beats having the thermostat randomly kick on at 3 am and roasting me awake—been there, done that, no thanks.

Yeah, totally get it—placement is key with these smart thermostats. If you're still tweaking things, here's a quick tip: try placing it at eye-level height, away from direct sunlight, vents, or appliances. Shelves or interior walls usually work best. Took me a few tries too before I found the sweet spot. Once you nail it though, it's smooth sailing...no more surprise sauna sessions at night. Glad you figured yours out!

Good points on placement, but I'm curious—has anyone noticed a difference in thermostat accuracy depending on wall material? I ask because mine's mounted on an interior brick wall, and it seems to lag behind temperature changes compared to when it was on drywall. Wonder if the brick is holding heat differently or something... Might just be me overthinking it, but now you've got me considering another relocation attempt.
