Estimating building expenses: what tools or sites do you trust?

Trying to get a handle on how much a small renovation might run me, but all the calculators I find online seem wildly different. Anyone got a go-to site or app that’s actually reliable? Or is it just always a guessing game?

If donuts worked, my build would’ve been done last year... I mostly rely on Buildertrend for tracking costs, but it’s not great for regional green material prices. Half the time, I’m just cross-referencing supplier quotes and hoping nobody’s messing with me.
