Good points overall, but honestly, I've found neighbors can sometimes muddy the waters more than clear them up. When I asked mine about an easement issue, I got three different stories from three different people... ended up more confused than when I started. I'd say neighbors are helpful for context, but I'd trust the official docs or a surveyor way more if accuracy matters.

Totally get where you're coming from... neighbors mean well, but accuracy's key when dealing with property lines. Official docs and surveys are definitely the safer bet. Good luck sorting it out—you're on the right track!

Couldn't agree more—been there myself. Online tools can be handy but they're not always spot-on. Keep trusting your instincts and official paperwork; you'll nail this in no time... rooting for you!

I've had a similar experience trying to sort out easements for a property I was eyeing last year. Online tools seemed straightforward at first, but once I started comparing them to official surveys, things got confusing fast. One site would show an easement cutting right through where I'd planned a garden, another didn't even mention it—so frustrating. Made me wonder how accurate these online maps really are... do they update regularly or just pull from outdated data? Ended up biting the bullet and hiring a surveyor to come out. Definitely cost more, but the peace of mind was worth it. Curious if anyone else has noticed discrepancies between online tools and official documents when planning renovations or landscaping? Seems like something that could trip up a lot of homeowners.

I feel you on this one. When we were planning our pool area, the online maps had me convinced there was an easement smack dab in the middle of our yard. Almost scrapped the whole idea until a neighbor casually mentioned they'd had a similar scare that turned out to be nothing. Sure enough, official survey showed the easement was nowhere near us. Lesson learned—online tools are handy, but nothing beats boots-on-the-ground confirmation.
