"Glad I double-checked before pouring concrete... would've been a nightmare otherwise."

Yikes, good catch! I've had clients run into similar issues with property lines and easements—online maps can definitely be misleading. Curious, did the county office mention why their updated docs weren't reflected online yet? Seems like that could save folks a lot of headaches if they kept things current.

I've run into similar headaches myself. Last year, I was helping a friend plan out a rain garden, and the online maps showed an easement way off from where it actually was. Luckily, we caught it before planting anything permanent. When we asked the county about it, they said updates take months because of staffing shortages and backlog. Seems like a common issue... you'd think they'd prioritize accuracy to avoid these messes.

Had a similar issue when we built our fence—online maps had us convinced we had an extra 3 feet of yard space. Nope, neighbor politely corrected us (thankfully before we started digging holes). Lesson learned: always double-check with official docs first...

Couldn’t agree more. Online maps are handy for rough planning, but they're notoriously off when it comes to exact property lines. When I built our shed, I skipped the online guesswork entirely and went straight to the county clerk's office. Took a bit longer, but they provided precise surveys and easement details. Saved me from potential headaches down the road—definitely worth the extra step.

Yeah, learned that the hard way myself. When we first moved in, I trusted an online map to plant a row of hedges along what I thought was our property line. Turns out, I was off by about three feet—neighbor wasn't thrilled. Ended up having to dig them all up and replant after getting the official survey. Definitely worth the hassle to get it right from the start...
