Totally get where you're coming from—I've had similar experiences. I started labeling bins for common hardware and lumber scraps, and it's been a lifesaver. Still toss the tiny stuff though... life's too short to sort through sawdust, right?

Yeah, labeling bins was a game changer for me too. I used to just toss everything into one big box and then spend forever digging around for that one screw or hinge... drove me nuts. Now I keep a small bucket nearby when I'm working—anything smaller than my thumb goes straight in there. If I haven't touched it in a month or two, out it goes. You're right though, life's definitely too short to be sorting sawdust.

- Labeling bins is helpful, sure, but tossing stuff after just a month or two seems a bit quick to me.
- I've had random hinges or screws save my butt months later...
- Maybe just stash them out of the way instead of chucking them completely?

I get the logic behind keeping stuff around, but honestly, clutter adds up fast. Maybe set a clear limit—like if you haven't touched it in 6 months, donate it? Keeps things tidy without feeling wasteful...

I see your point, but the 6-month rule feels a bit rigid to me. I've had tools or supplies sit untouched for over a year, then suddenly they're exactly what I need for a random fix or project. Maybe instead of a strict timeline, consider how specialized or expensive the item is? If it's something easily replaceable or cheap, sure, donate it. But for pricier or niche stuff, holding onto it a bit longer might actually save money down the road...
