Totally agree with this approach—redirecting your budget to impactful details can really elevate the whole space. I've found that clients often underestimate how much good lighting transforms a room... it's like jewelry for interiors. Plus, vinyl plank has come such a long way; it's practical without sacrificing style. Smart move balancing practicality with those little touches that make a design feel special.

Did you find clients were hesitant at first about vinyl plank? I've had a few who initially worried it'd look cheap, but once installed with quality lighting and fixtures, they completely changed their minds... funny how that works.

I get the appeal of vinyl plank, especially budget-wise, but did you notice any issues with durability or wear over time? I've seen some installations where heavy furniture left noticeable dents after a while. Lighting and fixtures can definitely elevate the look, but I'm curious if anyone's had to factor in replacement costs sooner than expected...

That's a fair concern. From my experience, vinyl plank can definitely be hit or miss durability-wise, especially under constant weight. I've seen cases where cheaper brands showed indentations pretty quickly, but higher-quality options seem to hold up surprisingly well. It might be worth investing slightly more upfront if heavy furniture is involved—replacement costs down the road can be sneaky and add up quicker than you'd think.

Yeah, that's a good point. When we moved into our place, I tried cutting corners on flooring to save some cash upfront. Seemed smart at first, but now I'm noticing those same dents under our couch legs... kinda wish I'd spent a bit more initially. Lesson learned, I guess—sometimes spending a little extra early on saves headaches later. Good luck with your project!
