I'm working on a project right now, and we're kinda stuck between two options. Option A is swapping out some materials for cheaper alternatives that still meet specs but might not last quite as long. Option B is simplifying the design itself—fewer parts, less complexity—but it might lose some of its original appeal or functionality. I'm leaning toward simplifying the design (less stuff to break, you know?), but my coworker thinks cheaper materials are the way to go. Curious what others think makes more sense here?
