Yeah, hiding cables always sounds like a good idea until you’re knee-deep in mud or wrestling with roots that seem to double overnight. I’ve tried the “invisible” approach before, but honestly, painting conduit to blend in is way less stressful. Sometimes practical just wins out over pretty.

- Ran into the same mess last summer—roots everywhere, and I swear the clay soil was out to get me.
- Ended up trenching for ethernet, but after the third busted shovel, I switched to surface-mount conduit too.
- Painted it a dull green to match the fence. Not invisible, but honestly, nobody notices unless they’re looking for it.
- Sometimes you just have to pick your battles...and your back will thank you later.
- Bonus: way easier to swap cables if something goes wrong down the line.
