I hear you on the hidden costs... had a similar headache last year when a cheaper drywall crew left seams showing through the paint. Ended up costing more to fix it than the pricier guys would've charged upfront.

True, but how do you gauge when the extra cost actually guarantees quality versus just being overpriced? Feels like there's no clear line...
