"Have you thought about rechargeable batteries? Might save you the hassle of constantly swapping them out..."

Rechargeables are handy, but honestly, they might not always be the best fit for hallway sconces. From experience, rechargeable batteries tend to have slightly lower voltage, which can make LED lights dimmer than you'd expect. If brightness matters to you, standard alkaline batteries might actually perform better. Just something to keep in mind before fully committing to rechargeables...

Good point about the brightness issue—I've noticed that too, especially with warmer LEDs. Another thing to consider is how often you're actually using those hallway sconces. If they're mostly decorative or just for occasional use, rechargeables might still be worth it despite the dimmer output. But if they're your main source of hallway lighting, alkalines probably make more sense. Curious though, have you tried lithium batteries? They're pricier but seem to last forever and keep brightness pretty consistent...

Lithiums are definitely worth the extra cost, especially in fixtures you don't want to mess with often. I used them in a client's hallway sconces last year—similar situation, warm LEDs, decorative but still regularly used—and they've been rock solid. Alkalines faded noticeably after a few months, but lithiums stayed consistent and bright for well over a year. Rechargeables are okay, but honestly, the hassle of frequent charging can outweigh the savings. If you haven't tried lithium yet, I'd give them a shot... might save you some headaches down the line.

Totally agree on lithiums being a lifesaver in tricky spots. Curious though, has anyone found rechargeables that actually hold up longer? I've had mixed luck...maybe I'm missing something.

Yeah, I feel this. I've tried a bunch of rechargeables over the years, and honestly, most of them just don't seem to hold their charge as long as advertised. Had a set that was supposed to be "high capacity," but after a few months they barely lasted half as long as regular alkalines. Maybe it's just me being unlucky, or maybe there's some secret brand out there I haven't stumbled across yet...

That said, I do have one set that's been surprisingly decent—picked them up randomly at a hardware store checkout (impulse buy, you know how it goes). They're not miracle workers or anything, but they've held up noticeably better than others I've tried. Still skeptical overall though...seems like lithium disposables are still king for reliability in tight spots.
