Totally relate to this balancing act. When we built our place, I fell in love with a reclaimed copper sink—gorgeous patina, eco-friendly story, the works. But man, keeping it clean was a full-time job...eventually swapped it out for stainless steel too. Lesson learned, haha.

Copper sinks are beautiful, but yeah, they're definitely high-maintenance. Did you try waxing it to slow down the patina? Sometimes that helps a bit...but honestly, stainless steel is just way easier in the long run.

Copper sinks do have their quirks, but honestly, stainless steel isn't always the perfect solution either. I've seen plenty of stainless sinks scratch up pretty quickly or show water spots constantly. Have you considered fireclay or granite composite? They're durable, low-maintenance, and still offer a unique look without the fuss of copper patina. Might be worth exploring if you're already feeling frustrated...

I installed a granite composite sink about two years ago after dealing with stainless steel frustrations myself. While stainless looked sleek initially, the constant battle with water spots and scratches drove me nuts. Granite composite has been a solid upgrade—no noticeable scratches, easy to clean, and it still looks brand new. It's not perfect (nothing is), but definitely less hassle than copper or stainless in my experience. Might be worth considering if you're open to alternatives.

Totally get the stainless steel frustration—been there myself. A few thoughts from my own kitchen adventures:

- Granite composite is definitely a solid choice, especially if you're tired of constant wiping and polishing. I put one in our guest house kitchen about three years ago, and it's held up beautifully. No fuss, no drama.
- But if you're open to something a bit different, fireclay sinks might be worth a look too. Installed one in our main kitchen last year, and honestly, I'm loving it. It has that classic farmhouse vibe, cleans up easily, and hasn't scratched yet (knock on wood...).
- Copper sinks look gorgeous in magazines, but yeah, the upkeep is intense. Had one briefly in a previous home—beautiful patina but way too high-maintenance for everyday life.

Bottom line: granite composite is great for practicality, fireclay if you want something stylish yet durable. Either way, life's too short to stress over sink scratches and water spots...
