Yeah, I’ve seen those “budget” cabinets go south pretty quick too—sometimes it’s the install, sometimes just cheap materials. I always tell folks, you can’t fake good hardware. Hinges and drawer slides are where the shortcuts show up first. If you’re doing a space that’ll see a lot of action, like a rec center kitchen, it’s worth spending more up front. For a break room or something low-traffic, maybe you can risk it... but I’d still want at least a halfway decent warranty. Learned that lesson the hard way after a community center job where we had to replace half the doors in year three.
