We had the same weed issue with permeable pavers at our old place—felt like we were forever pulling those little suckers out. Eventually, we tried polymeric sand between the gaps, and it actually helped quite a bit. Still had some weeds pop through occasionally, but way fewer than before. Your fire pit setup sounds cozy though...makes me miss having one. Are you planning any seating around it or just keeping it simple?
Weeds between pavers are the worst...we had a similar setup at our cabin, and polymeric sand was a lifesaver there too. Still, nature always finds a way, right? Your fire pit sounds awesome though—there's something special about gathering around a fire. We ended up using some old logs as rustic seating; it wasn't fancy, but it felt cozy and inviting. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it'll turn out great.
"Still, nature always finds a way, right?"
Definitely true—no matter how carefully you plan, weeds and shifting pavers happen eventually. But your setup sounds solid so far. Just keep an eye on sparks and clearance around seating, and you'll be good to go.

Good advice there. Reminds me of when we first built ours—thought we had everything covered until a windy night sent sparks flying toward the dry shrubbery nearby. Had to do some quick trimming the next day, haha. Curious though, have you thought about adding a spark screen or something similar? Might save you from unexpected landscaping adventures down the road...
Totally agree on the spark screen idea—it's a lifesaver, especially if your pit's near landscaping or furniture. Also, consider keeping a bucket of sand or water nearby... learned that one the hard way after a stray ember landed on my patio cushion.
