Last weekend I finally got around to setting up some new smart gadgets around the house. Thought it'd be simple, but now my lights dim automatically when I start a movie, and my coffee maker knows when I'm awake before I do. Kinda cool, kinda creepy. Um, anyone else ever feel like their house is getting a little too smart for comfort?

Yeah, I get what you mean. I tried setting up one of those smart thermostats to save money on heating bills, but now it keeps adjusting itself based on some mysterious algorithm. Half the time I'm freezing or sweating and end up manually overriding it anyway. Honestly, sometimes simpler is better—especially when you're paying extra for tech that's supposed to make life easier, not more complicated...
