Which Is Better For Controlling Everything: Voice Assistants Or Dedicated Touch Panels?
Sometimes the simplest setup is the most sustainable, but I’m curious if you’ve tracked any changes since automating.
I’ve wondered about this too—especially since moving into a house with all these “smart” gadgets. I can’t say I’ve noticed a huge difference in energy bills, but it’s tricky to tell what’s from automation and what’s just... me leaving lights on less often. I do like being able to double-check if everything’s off from my phone, but sometimes I feel like all the extra tech might be using more power behind the scenes.
Honestly, when the Wi-Fi drops, it’s kind of a reality check. Suddenly those touch panels or old-fashioned switches feel pretty reliable. I guess I’m still figuring out if the convenience outweighs the complexity. Maybe there’s a sweet spot—using automation for stuff that really needs it, and sticking with buttons for the basics. Anyone else feel like they’re in a constant tug-of-war between “fancy” and “functional”?
