"Even sealed, brick can get slippery or trap dampness."

Yeah, learned that the hard way myself. I put reclaimed brick flooring in our mudroom thinking it'd be perfect for handling dirt and moisture... turns out, even sealed, it held onto dampness longer than expected. Ended up swapping it out for porcelain tile with a brick pattern—honestly looks just as good and zero moisture issues. Lesson learned, I guess.

Yeah, brick can be tricky—did you notice if the sealing made it even more slippery when wet? I've seen that happen a few times. Porcelain tile's definitely a solid alternative, especially with the brick patterns available now. Did you go with a matte finish or something textured? That usually helps a lot with grip and still keeps the look authentic... Curious how it's holding up over time.

Porcelain's definitely a good call—especially if you pick something with a textured finish. Matte can still be slippery when wet, depending on tile type and foot traffic. I've found textured porcelain holds up great long-term, even outside. Curious if you've noticed any wear or fading yet...

I've had textured porcelain tiles on my patio for about two years now. Honestly, I was skeptical at first—figured they'd fade or chip—but they've held up surprisingly well. No noticeable fading yet, even with direct sunlight most of the day. One thing though: dirt tends to settle into the texture, so cleaning can be a bit more effort than smooth tiles. Still, worth it for the grip and durability.

Can confirm this 100%... mine look great from afar but up close it's like someone else's muddy shoes live here instead of me, lol. Still, can't beat the price-to-durability ratio.
