Been looking into LEED stuff lately for a project at work, and man, there's a lot more hoops to jump through than I expected. Some of it makes sense, like energy efficiency and water use, but other parts seem kinda nitpicky. Curious how many of you have dealt with this before...
Quick poll: If you've worked on a LEED project, did you find the extra effort worth it in the end?
- Totally worth it, would do again
- Meh, mixed feelings
- Nope, too much trouble
Voted "Totally worth it," but yeah, the paperwork can be a drag. Couple quick thoughts:
- LEED certification definitely boosts marketability—tenants and buyers seem to appreciate it.
- Some of the nitpicky stuff actually nudges you toward better building practices long-term.
- Once you've done one project, the next ones get way easier...trust me.
